I have broad knowledge of UE5 as well as the associated tools and technology in the VP workflow, such as Maya, Niagara, photogrammetry, MetaHumans, motion capture, Gaea, and DaVinci Resolve.
I was previously Technical Designer for a London-based games and immersive tech studio, where I was responsible for UX, narrative, gameplay, visual design, and communicating design concepts to internal teams and external clients.
In addition to Virtual Production, I have a Distinction in MSc VR/AR Programming, a 1st-class BSc degree in Natural Sciences, and experience in marketing.
I would describe myself as an Virtual Production generalist, with a passion for immersive tech and visual storytelling. I like to think that my education and employment over the past 10 years of my life have helped shape me into who I am now – I have the creativity of an artist, the problem-solving skills of a programmer, the analytical skills of a biochemist, the diligence of an investigator, and the vision of a designer. I am passionate about what I do, and I have a constant thirst for knowledge and self-improvement.
Whilst Unreal is my primary tool, I am also experienced in other game engines (Unity), immersive tech (VR, AR, Vuforia), programming (C#, python, JavaScript, Tcl),
virtual worldbuilding tools (QuadSpinner Gaea, RealityCapture, Maya, Quixel Bridge megascans), and character creation (MetaHumans, motion capture, RPM, Mixamo),
as well as video editing and colour grading (DaVinci Resolve).
I love getting hands-on experience with new technology, and I pride myself at being able to pick up new skills quickly.
My latest ventures are in incorporating AI into the Virtual Production workflow, and using python for Unreal optimization and Editor UX.
As a Technical Designer, I have acted as lead designer on a number of projects, where I have played a key role in creative direction –
making judgement calls on how to improve and enhance the look and feel of an experience.
Virtual Production brings together my skills and interests in almost perfect combination – art and visual design,
combined with the technical elements of programming and immersive tech – and applied to an industry I love.
I am also excited by the fast growth of technology in this area, from VR/AR in previs and location scouting,
to digital humans and motion-capture, to photogrammetry and AI models for virtual world-building.
My passion and extensive background in both art and technical domains drive my desire to occupy a
unique space where I can bridge the gap and communicate fluently in the languages of both worlds.
Thanks to my professional experience in different fields, I have fostered excellent communication skills,
being able to adapt my communication style to a range of different purposes and audiences, be they stakeholders,
internal departments, or external clients and vendors. I know how vital clear communication is in collaboration –
particularly when there is a creative vision to be met.
At a more fundamental business level, my well-honed analytical skills, complemented by a deep understanding of marketing and
business strategy acquired through both education and professional experience, enable me to offer invaluable insights
that steer company strategy and actively contribute to the development and execution of impactful, prosperous projects.
